Happy New Year!
We’ve had a frigid start to the year, with the first week and a half of temperatures averaging around 0 (zero) degrees (F)! And during this cold spell, Grandma and Grandpa Oakes were brave enough to visit us for a few days. The following weekend, Aunt Sarah and Joe came out to visit us. It comforts us to no end that even during the darkest (and coldest) days of winter, people still come out to visit us.
Ethan competed in his first gymnastics meet as a member of the Iowa Gym-Nest’s Level 4 boys team. He did very well, finishing 3rd on the parallel bars and 7th in all-around. We’ve put up video of his performance under “Video Clips.”
Emily performed in her class recital at the end of the month. Her performance is also posted on our website; and if you listen carefully, she’s starting to use her vibrato, which she’s been working on for the last few months.
Eugene finished his “Photo of the Day” project, culminating in 366 photos (one extra photo on the day Ethan lost two teeth!). He’s taking a little bit of a break; hence not too many photo updates this month!
