Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We started off the month with a weekend trip to Chicago, where we got to see Emily’s friend Abby perform the role of Jo Jo in a production of “Seussical the Musical.” The kids enjoyed it so much, we had to purchase the soundtrack and it’s all they listen to these days. They’d rather listen to Seussical than Christmas/Holiday music! Oh the things they can think!
We’re spending Christmas at home this year, though the kids are worried that we might not have a white Christmas! For the first time since we’ve been here in Iowa, we’ve not had any measurable snow yet and none in the forecast. While Beth and Eugene are enjoying the lack of snow, the kids are quite upset about it!
Emily turns 11 this month. And we’re even having a party within a week of the actual date! That’s something we haven’t done in a number of years.
